Chocolate Chip Shortbread Cookies

Ingredients

3 oz Butter
2 oz Caster Sugar
4 oz Flour
½ tsp Baking Powder
2 oz Dark Chocolate (chopped into small pieces)


Method:

Cream the butter and sugar.
Sift the flour and baking powder together and add to the creamed mixture.
Add the chocolate pieces.
Mix the dough with a fork and then with your hands until it is smooth
Roll into (about) 16 balls.
Place on a greased baking sheet and flatten slightly with the back of a teaspoon.

Bake at 180°C for about 15 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • You can add chopped, toasted hazelnuts or almonds if you like
  • A teaspoon of vanilla is also a good addition.
