4 tbs Golden Syrup
4 oz Butter
3 oz Sugar
8 oz Porridge Oats
2 oz Dark Chocolate (optional)
Gently heat the golden syrup and butter until the butter has melted.
Add all the other ingredients except the chocolate.
Bake in a greased 8 inch square tin at 170° C for about 35 minutes.
Leave to cool slightly in the tin and cut into bars.
(optional) When the bars are completely cool, dip the ends into melted chocolate and leave to set on greaseproof paper.
