Currant Scones

Ingredients :

8 oz Self-Raising Flour
1 tsp Salt
2 oz Butter
2 oz Caster Sugar
1 Egg (beaten)
4 tbs Milk (plus some extra for brushing)
2 oz Currants


Sift the flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl.
Rub in the butter.
Stir in the sugar.
Add the egg and milk and mix to a smooth dough with your hands.
Add the currants.
Place on a floured board and roll out into a circle about of an inch thick.
Cut into rounds.
Brush with milk.
Place on a greased baking sheet and bake at 220 C for about 10 minutes.
