Irish Coffee

Home Main Submit Contents Recipes

You will need:
Hot strong Coffee
Irish Whiskey
Sugar
Cream (lightly whipped -it should still be floppy, and about the consistency of runny honey)

Heat an Irish Coffee glass.
Pour in coffee to just over half fill the glass.
Add sugar to taste and a generous measure of whiskey.
Stir well to dissolve the sugar (this helps the cream to float)
Gently spoon on a couple of tablespoons of cream. Traditionally this is poured over the back of a tablespoon so it has a soft landing. It should float on the top so you have a drink that looks like a small glass of Guinness.
Do not stir. Drink through the cream. Have another one.
